I solve hard problems.

I provide leadership and portfolio management to teams and organizations, emphasizing process improvement, individual and team growth, and high quality deliverables.

I am a value creator, a solver of hard problems, a systems thinker, and a change agent. I bring fresh vision to both established and new organizations, finding pathways to disruption and increased market share and profits. I help companies and organizations find their new way.

I am currently working in the field of healthcare modeling and simulation as the Executive Director of the Sentara Center for Simulation and Immersive Learning (SCSIL) and as the Program Director of and Assistant Professor for the Simulation Program Management Certificate program within the School of Health Professions at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia.

I also run a boutique consulting firm named Epicural, LLC that helps both startup and established businesses solve their analysis, planning, and optimization issues. Epicural takes a logical approach to solving problems that meet our customer’s capabilities and resources by making their problem our own; only through “owning it” can we ensure quality solutions for our customers.

I was the 2020 President and on the Board of Directors of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. I currently lead the Government Advocacy Task Force for SSH.

I am a Lead Virginia Alumnus, from the “Longest Class Ever, the Class of 2020.”

I serve on numerous other Boards in support of local efforts and growing small businesses.

I am a U.S. Naval Academy and Naval Postgraduate School graduate, former Marine Officer, and engineer/computer scientist.
